I thought that maybe I should also post pictures of the original photo of the gladiolus and the contour drawing that I made from the photo before making the analogous picture seen below. I chose to do the flower in the top center of the photo.

Hi I am one of the Fast Friday group but lately have been traveling and have not gotten much finished. I loved your owls and seaguls..we live near the sea too. I am looking forward to your challenge...I really liked seeing the contour drawing of your glad. Very beautiful and dramatic quilt.
